I never thought I would put this game on the list because it's actually not a bad game by today's standards, I mean sure the game was hard in some parts but that's what made the game fun was its challenging levels and boss fights. What happens when you take a cool 1990's cartoon and turn it into a video game? You get a 2D platformer that becomes quite the thrill and adventure as you control Yakko, Wakko, & Dot through a wide range of levels. Toy Story is without a doubt the perfect game for the #4 spot on my list. Sonic 1 was a very good but sometimes very tricky game, and the game proves its difficulty in the marble zone.Įasily described as one of the coolest games of the 16-bit era, "Rocket Knight Adventures" was pretty much a very cool game with really good graphics, well not good compared to the graphics on the XBOX 360 but still, "Rocket Knight Adventures" is way better than its sequel, "Sparkster".īased on Disney's 1995 smash hit, Toy Story had everything: solid controls, an awesome soundtrack, and animation that was in fact done by PIXAR. Of all the incredible masterpieces on the Genesis, Sonic was one of them. Who's bright idea was to give Michael Jackson his own video game? Well, I don't know the answer to that question but "Michael Jackson's Moonwalker" is worth picking up if you're a fan of Michael Jackson.

Bottom line Bubsy is not a good game in its own standards.īased upon Disney's 1992 hit film "Aladdin", the game is just your average movie based title that stays true to the movie that it's based on and yes Aladdin is a pretty tough game on the Genesis.Īlthough "Sparkster" is the sequel to "Rocket Knight Adventures", I just think that maybe the "Rocket Knight" series had some intense edge to it but seriously this game is good not to mention different from its SNES counterpart I mean seriously, Bubsy was just an attempt to out-match Sonic the Hedgehog. When it comes platforming, Bubsy just doesn't cut it.

#10: Bubsy in Claws Encounters of the Furred Kind Welcome to the next level. It's no secret that I enjoy playing SEGA Genesis games, so for this article, I decided to countdown my picks for the top 10 best games the Genesis had to offer. Sounds like you already have some awesome games. Alternatively, get an EverDrive for expensive games.) I personally don't believe these games should go unplayed. You can buy Alien Soldier and Mega Man Legacy Collection off Steam to ease your conscience, but keep in mind the publishers aren't getting your money from buying any used Genesis game. I might catch some flack for this one, but these games are prohibility expensive on the used market, to the point where I can guarantee you'll never find any of these in the US at a decent price. There's also a Sega CD version with a different soundtrack and driving levels, so I'd hold off on the Genesis version if a Sega CD is in your near future.)Īlien Soldier, Mega Man: The Wily Wars, MUSHA, and Pulseman (Grab bootleg copies from a reputable source. The SNES version does score higher, but I have always felt that the Genesis version was more unique and captured the film's atmosphere better. VectorMan/2 (A great duo of platforming games for Genesis with some of the best graphics on the system.)īatman Returns (Unlike its SNES counterpart, this version of Batman Returns is a platformer. With a quick search, 6-Pak is cheaper than Golden Axe by itself, so it is definitely worth picking up.) It contains Sonic the Hedgehog, Golden Axe, Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage, Columns and Super Hang-On. NBA Jam: Tournament Edition (My favorite sports game of all time, and I've only played the Genesis version)Ħ-Pak (Sounds like you may have a few games in this collection already, but this cartridge is still the best bang for your buck on Genesis. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (Plays like Streets of Rage but is much easier easily my favorite Power Rangers game with how accurate it is to the show/movie) I'll recommend some of the more obscure games that are cheaper than most suggestions here:
